Atwater police on Wednesday released a series of surveillance photographs in connection with a hit-and-run incident last month that sent a 59-year-old man to the hospital.
John Tolentino suffered 26 broken bones in his left foot Jan. 25 when he was struck by a car that then backed up and struck him a second time before leaving the parking lot of the Royal Crown mini-mart at 2689 N. Buhach Rd. in Atwater.
Doctors told him they’re not sure they’ll be able to save his foot, Tolentino said. He and his wife, Patricia, both suffer from cancer, which makes him a poor candidate for surgery.
“It’s just killing me, I’m in so much pain and I’m the only driver and my wife and I have to pay someone to drive us around,” Tolentino said Wednesday.
